A 16 year old boy was arrested on Ryland Close in Leamington this afternoon on suspicion of breaching a closure order. He has been charged to appear at Coventry Youth Court later this month.

Officers from Leamington SNT had a closure order authorised in September to protect a vulnerable male, this made it a criminal offence to enter the property. Officers attended the address this afternoon to check on the resident and found the boy leaving.

We’ve said before that we would robustly enforce this order and this is further proof of that. We will now await the decision of the court but breaches of this order carry the potential of prison time. I hope anyone choosing to breach these orders understands the risk they are taking with their freedom’.
