Good afternoon Studley.
This is a localised message about an emerging crime trend.
As you maybe aware, we have seen a significant number of thefts of copper pipping in and around the area of Studley. The offender is ripping the piping off the walls, despite the fact the gas supplies are still live! They are showing no regard for the safety of those in the community and are stealing indiscriminately, from private dwellings as well as commercial properties. If you smell gas, take the time to check your external piping.
At the same time, we have had a couple reports of burglaries whereby the offender has smashed their way through glass doors, caused damage and stolen charity tins. It is very possible these are also being committed by the same person and that person is clearly in a desperate situation. Nonetheless, such crimes are not tolerated, especially when their actions may put lives at risk. Any and all information about this offender is welcome.
While police are keeping an eye out for this male, during hours of darkness, please be vigilant for a lone male, possibly in a blue jacket, who will likely have a carry bag with him. Please report any suspicious sightings to help Police to catch him in the act.
Thank you | ||||
