Having received an increasing number of reports about a male openly urinating and defecating in the street in the area of Bath Street over the last week or so Leamington SNT and our good friends in the Patrol
Investigations Unit leapt into action and arrested a 61 year old male yesterday afternoon.

Fast forward one or two (or nine) hours later and Gary Yates of no fixed abode was charged with 5 counts of outraging public decency and 1 count of criminal damage. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court today.

We encourage the public to report behaviour such as this as when we heard about what was happening we were as disgusted as the rest of you. We will take robust action against anyone openly choosing to use Leamington Spa as their own personal toilet! We will bring you the result from court as and when we get it.
