We proactively monitor crimes in our area to identify growing trends and where possible, tackle them at the source. Over the last few months, we have been running a Problem-Solving Plan to confront shoplifting from the CO-OP in Studley. This was the single highest source of crime reports in the area. We worked with staff suggesting crime prevention alterations in store, learning from neighbouring businesses, and targeted persistent offenders. As a result of these efforts, we have now closed the Problem-Solving Plan, having seen a massive 81% reduction in crime at this location.
