Its been a busy week for PC BONSOR and PC HEXTALL on Rugby Town Centre. 

We have been conducting patrols as part of Operation SONG. This is a specifically targeted operation in order to deal with drug supply and drug use in Rugby Town Centre. We also look to stamp out ASB issues during these patrols. On Wednesday 15th January 2025, PC BONSOR and PC HEXTALL were on plain clothes patrol in Rugby Town Centre when PC HEXTALL spotted an extremely intoxicated male passed out on a bench. In a bid to ensure he was conscious, she engaged with the male who became extremely abusive. Male then began assaulting officers. The male was arrested for drunk and disorderly and assault an emergency worker x2. He was later arrested for Public order offences. Male was charged following interview for all of the above. 

This just highlights the work that we conduct through OP Song. Although, this operation targets drug use, we deal with everything and anything that comes our way. 

Happy to report both officers are fine following the incident :)
