Warwick House closure order extended

Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector Ryan Walker is pleased to update that the closure order for Warwick House has been extended for three months.

He said: “We still have concerns around the safety of Warwick House and sought an extension to the closure order while we consult with the landlord on how improvements can be made to the premises.

“Making and keeping our towns safer remains a priority for us, and we’ll continue to work hard with partners to understand where vulnerabilities lie in our communities.”

The extension, which was granted recently and applies until mid-May 2025, means that - under Section 86 of the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime, and Policing Act of 2014 - any person found inside the premises faces up to 51 weeks in prison.
Since 2023, there have been five deaths at Warwick House – four of which were confirmed to be drug-related.

The closure order is designed to prevent ‘disorderly, offensive, or criminal behaviour on the premises; serious nuisance to members of the public; and disorder near the property associated with the use of the property’ on Bond Gate.
