On Sunday our sirens disturbed the peace in Exhall as we responded to reports of a collision on private land between two bikes which resulted in serious injury. It transpired that a private event was taking place for persons of all ages to enjoy off road bikes and quad bikes. As a result of our attendance, concerns have been raised with the Health and Safety Executive about the absence of safety provisions at the location. We do not want to stop the community from enjoying motor sport, but we want them to be safe when they do so. The Safer Neighbourhood Team will be supporting the HSE in their enquiries.
Also last Sunday, four suspected stolen offroad bikes were seized in Earlswood by our friends in the Rural Crime Team. These had no doubt been causing a nuisance on the roads in the local area. Furthermore, in Studley, our very own PCSO Singh seized a electric bike which was being driven in an erratic manner in Studley. None of these vehicles will be causing issues any more,
Thankfully, not everyone misbehaves with their bikes. We are halfway through the Adventure Bike Festival being held at Ragley Hall. The event is expected to bring in 20,000 visitors this weekend, many arriving and leaving on two wheels. As we move into warmer summer months, please be extra mindful about these vulnerable road users on our beautiful roads in South Warwickshire. If you are riding, don't give in to the heat and neglect the safety clothing. | ||||
