Op Leviathan - Rugby Area Patrols.

The Rural Crime Team has recently been out conducting Operation Leviathan patrols across the Rugby area alongside our partners from the Environment Agency, targeting illegal fishing, poaching, and other rural crime.

While the vast majority of anglers we encountered were fishing responsibly and within the law, a small number were not.

The close season plays an important role in protecting fish stocks during spawning, and joint patrols such as these help ensure our rivers, lakes, and fisheries remain protected for future generations.

The Rural Crime Team and Environment Agency will continue carrying out proactive patrols, checking fisheries, and taking action against those involved in illegal fishing, poaching, and other offences that impact our rural communities and wildlife.
