Your feedback is helping make Bedworth a safer place to live. Through the neighbourhood priorities survey on Warwickshire Connected you told us that tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB) and improving staff safety was a top policing priority for Bedworth Tesco. In response, Sgt Grassby, PC Pedley and PCSO Shepard, together with the problem-solving team, engaged with residents and deployed targeted patrols to the store, charging several individuals with theft, issuing multiple criminal behaviour orders and community protection notices. Additionally, working with staff, the officers changed the store’s layout with plans to convert the foyer where disruptive individuals congregate into a Click and Collect. Additionally, CCTV safer security pods were introduced to deter nuisance behaviour and keep shoppers safe. Our SNT officers further organised youth diversion activities from rugby to martial arts, helping to end the cycle of crime. Finally, working with Tesco, security arrangements were reviewed and security staff were provided with additional training to tackle antisocial behaviour. Through the hard work of our officers and collaboration with residents and community partners, antisocial behaviour has dropped by 55%. With a further 92% of Tesco staff feeling safe at work, 81% of customers feeling confident to report ASB, and 91% of customers feeling safe to visit the store. | ||
