Dear Resident

A suspicious van was seen in the village of Austrey recently trying to collect "scrap" that didn't belong to them. 

They were told to move on by the owners and left empty handed. 

The Safer Neighbourhoods team added a marker to the van so it could be stopped if seen by police and occupants checked.

Two days ago Warwickshire OPU stopped the vehicle. 

Turns out they had fraudulent insurance so the van was seized and driver reported. 

This is usually 3 points and a £300 fine plus storage and recovery fees if they attempt to retrieve the vehicle.
